Do you recognize this barcode?
This barcode can collect all information required by the National Association of Statutory Health Physicians (KBV, Germnay only) in a 5x1 cm size. Information included: form type, version, name, first name, date of birth, date of validity, IK, insurance number, state, physician number, date of issue, KBV-registration number, form spezifications.PDF417 is the format chosen at the time by the KBV for printing medical forms.
Stacked Barcode
PDF417 is a new generation of barcode. It saves more information then a "normal" barcode: not only the customer's numbers but also the address or even a text consisting of several hundred characters.
The PDF417 is composed of a stack of rows. You can encode a full ASCII characterset with up to 2,700 characters. Both the number of rows and columns are selectable.
